Road user charges to increase from 1 August 2026

The Roads Authority (RA) has announced adjustments to Road User Charges (RUCs) for the 2026/27 financial year, with increases set to take effect from 1 August 2026.

According to the RA, vehicle licence fees will increase by 10%, while charges for abnormal loads and road carrier permits will each rise by 20%.

The authority said the adjustments were approved by the Government and published through the relevant Government Gazette, which provides details of the revised charges.

The RA advised motorists, transport operators and other road users to take note of the new tariffs and make the necessary preparations ahead of the implementation date.
