Police in Tsumeb are investigating a case of baby dumping at Saamstan, after a 19-year-old Namibian female suspect allegedly dumped her new born baby girl in a toilet hole on Saturday, 25 July 2026.

According to the crime report, the infant was discovered and rescued after a guardian heard her crying and alerted the police.

Both the suspect and the baby are admitted at the hospital for medical treatment.

The motive behind the incident is still unknown. Police investigations continue.
