Standard Bank Namibia has launched the Standard Bank Africa Business Awards 2026, providing Namibian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with an opportunity to gain continental recognition for the innovation, resilience and economic contribution they make to communities across the country and the wider African continent.
As Namibia continues to prioritise economic diversification, entrepreneurship and job creation, SMEs remain a critical driver of growth.
From agriculture and manufacturing to tourism, technology, retail and the creative economy, small businesses are helping create employment opportunities, stimulate local economies and strengthen communities.
The Standard Bank Africa Business Awards have been established to recognise these businesses and elevate their stories onto a continental platform.
Beyond celebrating success, the awards aim to provide increased visibility, credibility and opportunities for entrepreneurs to connect with investors, strategic partners and new markets across Africa.
The awards programme will culminate in a Pan-African celebration in Johannesburg, where outstanding businesses from across Standard Bank’s African footprint will be recognised for their innovation, leadership and measurable impact.
Hellen Amupolo, executive officer: business and commercial banking at Standard Bank Namibia, said: “The Africa Business Awards play an important role in recognising and celebrating the innovation, resilience and achievements of SMEs across our continent. These awards not only shine a spotlight on businesses that are creating jobs, driving growth and contributing to their communities, but also inspire continued excellence and enterprise development across the SME sector.”
The awards further reinforce Standard Bank Namibia’s commitment to supporting enterprise development through solutions that help businesses start, grow, scale and access opportunities beyond their local markets.
In addition to recognition, participating businesses will benefit from opportunities to connect with fellow entrepreneurs across the continent, share experiences, learn from industry peers and explore new pathways for regional expansion. The closing date for entries is 31 October 2026.
