Ongwe Minerals files technical report for Khorixas Gold Project

Canadian-listed gold exploration company Ongwe Minerals Incorporated has voluntarily filed a technical report for its Khorixas Gold Project, providing an updated technical assessment of the exploration property.

The company said the report was prepared in accordance with Canadian standards governing disclosure of scientific and technical information relating to mineral projects.

The Khorixas project is located about 60 kilometres west of Osino Resources’ Eureka gold project and lies along the northern margin of the Damara Orogenic Belt.

According to Ongwe, the project hosts two large-scale surface discoveries, Belmont and K17.

The Belmont prospect has a surface gold footprint of approximately 12 kilometres by six kilometres and is located between the regional-scale Khorixas Fault and the Belmont Thrust Zone. The company said calcrete and grab sampling has identified 18 target areas.

K17 is a surface discovery of copper-gold mineralisation identified through soil and rock-chip sampling over an area of approximately 12 square kilometres. Ongwe believes the mineralisation is intrusion-related.

The company said planning is underway for a geophysical programme in the second half of 2026 to help define subsurface mineralisation and develop targets for drilling.

Ongwe is also advancing its Omatjete Gold Project, which is located along the regional Okondeka Fault Zone, a structure that also hosts the Kokoseb gold deposit.

Early exploration at Omatjete has identified the Manga and Nguni gold prospects. Manga has a gold-in-soil footprint measuring approximately 4.5 kilometres by one kilometre, with early scout drilling indicating gold in bedrock.

The Nguni prospect has a five-kilometre long gold-in-soil footprint, with reported values of up to 1.3 grams per tonne and remains open to the west, north and east.

Ongwe said it has secured approximately 50 kilometres of strike length along the prospective fault zone, while regional sampling continues.

Separately, Ongwe announced that it has entered into an investor relations consulting agreement with Aideen McDermott, subject to approval by the TSX Venture Exchange.

McDermott will oversee the company’s investor relations and corporate communications functions under an initial 12-month agreement that commenced on 1 August.

Based in Toronto, McDermott provides investor relations consulting services to junior mining companies involved in gold and copper exploration, as well as technology companies

She previously worked on equity sales desks at Beacon Securities and BMO Capital Markets.

Ongwe is focused on the discovery and advancement of gold systems in Namibia, with its current exploration portfolio centred on the Omatjete and Khorixas projects in the emerging Northwest Damara gold belt.
