Okapya Liner Transport Management has apologised to the family of one deceased person and the six injured people in a road accident in Ondangwa on 1 September 2026, as well as to other street vendors and property owners affected by the crash.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the company expressed its “deepest condolences and sincere apologies” following the accident, which also resulted in damage of goods and property, including vehicles.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of a life and the injuries sustained by six people who are currently receiving medical attention,” the company said.
Okapya Liner said it recognised the distress, loss, and inconvenience this incident has caused.
The company further said it remains committed to cooperating with relevant authorities and strengthening its safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
“To the Ondangwa Town Council, the affected families, our passengers, fellow road users, the street-vending community, and the entire Namibian public, please accept our deepest and sincerest apologies,” Okapya Liner said.
