MPs oversee agricultural facilities in Hardap region

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Natural Resources has concluded an oversight visit to key agricultural projects in the Hardap Region.

The visit aimed to assess the performance of both public and private agricultural enterprises and their contribution to Namibia’s food security and economic development.

Led by the committee’s chairperson Tobie Aupindi, the delegation toured the Hardap Green Scheme, the ROOTS Project in Stampriet, and the Namib Dairies Super Farm.

In his remarks following the programme, commended the efficiency, innovation and investment demonstrated by the privately managed enterprises.

He noted that both the ROOTS Project and the Namib Dairies Super Farm showcased sound management practices, operational efficiency, and a clear commitment to boosting agricultural productivity.

The committee said it will incorporate findings from the visit into its report to parliament on strengthening agricultural output and food security in Namibia.
