Namibia has been included among six African countries whose citizens will be allowed to visit Brazil without a visitor visa from 2026, in a move expected to strengthen tourism, business and cultural ties between the two countries. The visa exemption will also apply to African countries such as Botswana, Morocco, Seychelles, South Africa and Tunisia. The Namibian Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying human remains which were discovered in the bushes near Matshitshi Road in Otjomuise, Windhoek on Saturday 11 July. Police said a skeleton was found about 200 metres from the Matshitshi gravel road alongside a black Johnson T-shirt, yellow tracksuit trousers and a pair of Havaianas sandals. Anyone who recognises the clothing or has information that could assist the investigation is urged to contact Chief Inspector Oscar N. Shatipamba on 081 129 7550 or visit the police mortuary.

Patience Makwele Police have launched an investigation after human skeletal remains were discovered in the bushes near Matshitshi Road in Otjomuise on Saturday morning. According to the weekend crime report, the remains were allegedly found at around 10:30 by a resident who was collecting firewood along a riverbank. Police said clothing was found at the scene, along with a rope tied to a nearby tree branch and another rope lying on the ground near the skull. Allexer Namundjembo A 21-year-old man died after allegedly being stabbed in Hakahana, Katutura, during the early hours of Sunday. According to the Police, the incident occurred at approximately 00:50 on Omwindi Street. It is alleged that the victim arrived at his uncle's residence, where he knocked on the windows and informed him that he had been stabbed. Moments later, he collapsed and was declared dead at the scene. The deceased's next of kin have been informed. Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.

Sostenus Wilherm A female toddler died after allegedly drowning in a bucket of water at Amukulungundju village in the Onanke area on Saturday, 11 July. According to the police, the incident occurred at around 13h00 when the child allegedly crawled to a water tap where a bucket filled with water had been left. It is alleged that the toddler fell into the bucket and drowned. The deceased's next of kin has been informed. Police have registered an inquest and investigations are continuing.

Sostenus Wilherm Three suspects aged between 15 and 19 have been arrested after they were allegedly found in possession of suspected stolen livestock at Farm Holadia near Gibeon. According to the police, the arrests were made at around 18h00 on Friday, 10 July, after the suspects were allegedly found with 20 sheep and three goats bearing tampered ear marks. The suspects allegedly failed to provide a satisfactory or lawful explanation for their possession of the livestock. It is alleged that an unidentified suspect contacted the complainant by phone while posing as a bank official. The caller allegedly claimed that money was being withdrawn from the victim's bank accounts and instructed him to open his mobile banking application.
