Andrada’s Uis tin production rises 13% as plant upgrades advance

Andrada Mining’s contained tin production increased 13% year-on-year to 576 tonnes in the first six months of its 2027 financial year, supported by higher feed grades and improved plant performance at its Uis Mine in Namibia.

The company said contained tin production rose from 511 tonnes in the first half of FY2026, while tin concentrate production increased 11% to 955 tonnes from 858 tonnes.

For the second quarter ended 31 August 2026, contained tin production increased 6% to 290 tonnes from 273 tonnes, while tin concentrate production rose 6% to 482 tonnes from 453 tonnes.

Andrada said the increase followed improvements in processing performance and higher feed grades.

The average plant processing rate increased 7% to 153 tonnes per hour in H1 FY2027, compared with 143 tonnes per hour in the corresponding period.

Ore processed increased 2% to 538 810 tonnes from 527 583 tonnes, while the average feed grade rose 9% to 0.149% tin from 0.137%.

The company is now moving into the implementation phase of a funded production growth programme at Uis.

Andrada secured N$98 million in funding from Bank Windhoek and the Development Bank of Namibia for planned operational upgrades, including the installation of an ore-sorting circuit.

The company said the ore-sorting circuit is expected to increase annual tin concentrate production by 50% to 70% to approximately 2 500 to 3 000 tonnes. This is equivalent to about 1 500 to 1 900 tonnes of contained tin.

Long-lead equipment for the crushing component of the ore-sorting circuit has already been ordered as implementation of the project advances.

Andrada said higher concentrate production is also expected to reduce the applicable royalty rate, which it expects to support operating margins and cash generation.

Chief executive officer Anthony Viljoen said the first-half performance provided a stronger base for the next phase of growth.

“The higher feed grades and processing rate supported the increased tin production,” Viljoen said, adding that the N$98 million funding package would enable the company to install the ore-sorting circuit.

Andrada Mining is listed on AIM under the code ATM and on the Namibian Stock Exchange under ATM.
