While paying tribute to President Hage Geingob, the Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) stressed the significant advancements made in the tourism industry and conservation sectors under his leadership.
Acknowledging the vital contribution of tourism to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), President Geingob was praised for his dedication to ensuring the safety and security of tourists, a factor deemed essential for the industry’s growth and sustainability.
Nelson Ashipala, the Corporate Communications Manager at NWR, commended the former President’s visionary leadership, which has had a lasting impact on Namibia’s conservation and tourism landscape.
“Dr. Geingob’s legacy in promoting growth, sustainability, and prosperity for our nation will always be remembered,” Ashipala remarked.
Expressing condolences on behalf of NWR to the former First Lady Monica Geingos and the nation at large, Ashipala reflected on President Geingob’s crucial role in promoting the concept of the Namibian house and his exceptional leadership in driving the Harambee Prosperity Plan.
“This plan, universally celebrated across Namibia, has acted as a crucial benchmark for our progress and development,” he noted.
Ashipala urged the Namibian community to follow in President Geingob’s footsteps, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and unity, especially during this challenging time.
He highlighted President Geingob’s vision of equality for all Namibians as a legacy worth upholding.
In honour of President Geingob’s memory, NWR has established a memorial table at its head office, inviting travellers, employees, and the general public to leave messages of condolence.
Among the first to sign the book were NWR Chairperson, Ambassador Harold /Urib, and Managing Director Matthias Ngwangwama, marking the beginning of a collective mourning process and a celebration of a leader who viewed all Namibians as equals.
Through these tributes, NWR and the wider Namibian community remember President Geingob not just as a leader, but as a visionary who significantly contributed to the prosperity and unity of the nation, leaving an indelible mark on its tourism and conservation efforts.
