Police in the Erongo Region have opened an inquest after a 41-year-old Namibian man was found dead at a unit in Kavango Street, Kramersdorf, Swakopmund.
According to the weekly crime report, the deceased, identified as Collin Smith, was discovered by a friend between Wednesday, 19 August and Friday, 21 August 2026.
Smith’s lifeless body was found in a sitting position with a rope around his neck on a small mattress next to his vehicle.
Police said no foul play is suspected. His body was transported to the Walvis Bay Police mortuary for an autopsy to determine the cause of death, while his next of kin have been informed.
