An 18-year-old man of Herero descent who attended the same school as slain Ingrid Maasdorp and Roswinds Fabianu last year allegedly confessed to their rapes and murders, after he was arrested for the attempted rape of a 10-year-old in Okahandja on Saturday.
The suspect, whose name has not been released yet, and was 16 years old at the time of the crimes, allegedly joined the search parties and participated in protests against the victims’ murders.
The Windhoek Observer further established that the suspect resides at a house near a riverbed along the B1 road towards Otjiwarongo in Veddersdal, which is in close proximity to the Maasdorp household.
