Police probe gang rape of woman in Okahandja

Police are investigating a case of rape after a 25 year-old woman was allegedly attacked by a group of men in the Nau-Aib location early Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at around 01h00 on 7 June 2026 near the NamWater houses in Okahandja.

According to police, the Namibian woman was on her way home when she was allegedly raped by approximately nine men armed with knives.

The complainant told police she could not scream for help because the suspects threatened to stab her if she did.

The suspects allegedly fled when they saw car lights approaching.

After the attackers left, the victim sought help at a nearby house.

She was taken to hospital for treatment and is in a stable condition.

Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
