Ongava appoints Amos Shiyuka as chairman of the board

The board of directors and executive management of Ongava have announced the appointment of Amos Shiyuka as chairman of the board of directors of Ongava Game Reserve (Pty) Ltd and Ongava Hai//om Tourism (Pty) Ltd.

Shiyuka’s appointment marks an important milestone in Ongava’s continued journey to strengthen its governance, advance its conservation mission, and realise its long-term vision of becoming a premier wildlife and wilderness experience.

An accomplished Namibian business leader, Shiyuka brings extensive executive and board experience spanning conservation, finance, telecommunications, technology, security, manufacturing and corporate governance, the company said.

He currently serves as chairman of Save the Rhino Trust Namibia, one of Africa’s most respected conservation organisations dedicated to protecting Namibia’s free roaming desert adapted black rhino population.

He also serves as an independent non-executive director of Namibia Breweries Limited, part of the Heineken Group in Namibia, as chairman of the Namport Social Investment Fund, and independent non-executive director of NovaNam/Pescanova.

Shiyuka serves as executive director and founder of Mobicash Payment Solutions, independent non-executive chairman of MCUBE Investments One Ltd, and executive chairman of CSS Tactical Solutions Namibia, reflecting a distinguished career in strategic leadership, innovation and business development.

Earlier in his career he held senior executive roles including managing director of Trustco Mobile and leadership positions within the telecommunications sector.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.
