Namib Desert Diamonds (PTY) LTD (Namdia) has disclosed that based on current production forecasts and Namdia’s existing 15% purchase entitlement, it expects to sell about 928 350 carats over the next three financial years.

Public relations and communications officer Beverley Coussement said the projected value of these sales is estimated at approximately US$380.6 million.

“These projections are based on current production forecasts and are subject to actual diamond production, prevailing market conditions, demand, and other commercial factors that may influence the volume and value of diamonds,” she said.

Coussement said during the previous three financial years, Namdia supplied a total of 757 882.92 carats of rough diamonds to its approved clients, generating approximately N$7.27 billion in rough diamond sales revenue.

According to Coussement, in 2022/2023, 278 609 carats were sold valued at N$3.11 billion. In 2023/2024 260 599 carats were sold valued at N$2.53 billion and in 2024/2025, 218 674.92 carats valued at N$1.64 billion were sold.

Namdia announced this week that it has selected 32 companies to form its new client base for the next three years, following the conclusion of its client selection process.

The new client portfolio comprises companies from Namibia, Belgium, India and the United Arab Emirates, reflecting the continued international demand for Namibian diamonds while maintaining opportunities for local participation in the country’s diamond value chain.

Of the 32 successful applicants, six are Namibian companies: AC Diam BV Diamonds Namibia, Chintan Gems BV, Fine Star Jewellery and Diamonds Namibia Pty Ltd, Gayane Trading, Sinco Investments and Stargems Manufacturing Namibia Pty Ltd.

Belgium accounts for nine successful companies, including AC Diam BV, Dial Diamonds NV, Dev Jewels BV, Diamond Trading NV, Dianwill BVBA, EGM Blue BV, IGC Group NV, Pluczenik Diamond Company NV and SV Gems NV.

India has eight successful companies: Chintan Gems BV, Dharmanandan Diamonds Pvt Ltd, Dia Jewel NV, Diamond India Limited, Jasani India Pvt Ltd, Narola Diamonds Pvt Ltd, Ratnakala Exports Pvt Ltd, Shree Ramkrishna Exports Pvt Ltd (SRK) and Venus Jewel.

The United Arab Emirates is represented by nine companies: Choron DMCC, DA Trading DMCC, Dhamani Jewels DMCC, Diarush FZCO, M Suresh Company DMCC, Samir Gems FZCO, SBMH Group FZCO and The Source Diamonds DMCC.

The selected companies will constitute Namdia’s official client base for the next three-year trading cycle, during which they will be eligible to purchase diamonds marketed by the state-owned company under its allocation framework.

The announcement marks the completion of Namdia’s client selection process, which is a key component of the company’s diamond sales strategy and its mandate to market and maximise value from Namibia’s diamond resources.
