A 71-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the road near Onankali Village on Thursday evening.

Police said the accident happened at around 19h20 along the B1 road between Omuthiya and Ondangwa.

The deceased has been identified as Ndeshihafela Kayambu. It is alleged that Kayambu was attempting to cross the road when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle. She died at the scene.

Police confirmed that her next of kin have been informed. Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
