The German airline Condor, has announced that the full summer 2027 programme will be released gradually.
The airline, which stopped flying to Namibia following the outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic and has announced plans to resume flights, has said the programme will enable guests to plan their travels for the upcoming summer season at an early stage.
Tickets for flights to Windhoek, as well as other destinations already released from the summer 2027 flight schedule, are now available at http://www.condor.com and through all travel agencies.
Condor announced at the end of June that it will add Frankfurt–Windhoek (WDH) service to its flight schedule for summer 2027.
The new route will be operated three times per week from the end of June, with departures from Frankfurt on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Return flights from Windhoek will operate the following day, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. With Windhoek, a destination returns to the Condor network that was part of the airline’s route portfolio for around seven years from November 2014.
“Windhoek is returning to our long-haul portfolio after having been part of our route network for many years. Namibia has long been one of the most sought-after long-haul destinations for German holidaymakers. With this direct connection and our modern Airbus A330neo fleet, we are creating an attractive offering for both leisure travelers and tour operators that meets the strong demand for travel to Southern Africa,” said Peter Gerber, chief executive officer of Condor.
Condor said Namibia is one of the most popular destinations in Southern Africa, known for its vast landscapes, national parks and unique nature experiences.
For many travelers, Windhoek serves as the starting point for tours throughout the country and the wider region. In addition to Windhoek, further initial destinations from the summer 2027 flight schedule are already available for booking.
In April, the Namibia Airports Company (NAC), welcomed the inaugural Edelweiss flight from Zurich to Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport.
The launch marked a historic milestone in Namibia’s aviation and tourism sectors, introducing a direct non-stop connection between Switzerland and Namibia.
The new service will initially operate twice weekly, with plans to increase to three weekly flights from mid-July 2026.
Operated by Switzerland’s leading leisure airline, the Edelweiss Airbus A350 arrived with 285 passengers and departed with 261 passengers on the first-ever direct commercial connection between the two destinations, Zurich and Windhoek.
Switzerland is already a significant source market, with approximately 22 000 two-way passengers recorded in 2024, reflecting strong and growing demand.
Discover Airlines is also set to increase its Munich-Windhoek service from three to five weekly flights from April 2027.
The Lufthansa Group leisure carrier announced that it will add two additional weekly frequencies on Mondays and Thursdays, bringing its Munich-Windhoek schedule to five year-round flights per week.
The expansion will increase the total number of weekly Lufthansa Group flights to Windhoek from Frankfurt and Munich to 12, further strengthening air connectivity between Namibia and Europe.
Discover Airlines currently operates daily flights between Frankfurt and Windhoek, while the Munich route has operated three times a week since its launch in 2025.
