Affirmative Repositioning leader Job Amupanda has alleged that a company called Straight Group, reportedly linked to popular Namibian musician Lazarus “Gazza” Shiimi, acquired three combat military vehicles worth approximately N$50 million, raising questions about private interests and military oversight.
Speaking at a press conference earlier today, Amupanda alleged that August 26 Holdings and its associates were linked to the acquisition of the vehicles, which he claimed cost approximately N$18 million each.

“When Gazza was singing Chelete at Swapo rallies, his dream finally came true,” Amupanda said.
He further alleged that the vehicles were purchased in Uganda and driven into Namibia through Angola.
More concerning, according to Amupanda, is that the country’s military leadership was allegedly unaware of the acquisition.
“And do you know what’s worse? The military army and military leadership does not know,” he said.
Amupanda further claimed that the vehicles are currently being concealed by August 26 Holdings.
He questioned the intentions behind the acquisition, raising concerns about possible security implications.
