Fuel prices to increase on Wednesday

Staff Writer

Fuel prices will increase from Wednesday, 4 November 2026, with petrol rising by N$2 per litre and diesel by N$3 per litre.

The ministry of industries, mines and energy attributed the increases to sharply rising fuel shipping costs and a weaker Namibia dollar against the US dollar, which have pushed up the cost of importing fuel despite a slight decline in international refined fuel prices.

Announcing the adjustment, mines and energy minister Modestus Amutse reassured the public that Namibia has sufficient fuel stocks to meet national demand, with no immediate threat of shortages.

He urged motorists not to engage in panic buying, saying the country’s fuel supply chain remains stable.

Government will continue absorbing part of the import costs through the National Energy Fund to cushion consumers from the full impact of the increases.
