/Uirab challenges Nekundi’s investigation and board shake-up in court

Renthia Kaimbi

Namibia Airports Company (NAC) chief executive officer Bisey /Uirab has approached the High Court in an urgent application seeking to stop the implementation of recommendations contained in an investigation report compiled by Lineekela Joseph.

In the application, filed against the minister of works and transport, the NAC and the newly appointed board members, /Uirab is challenging the legality of Joseph’s appointment as investigator, the report dated 7 April 2026, and the minister’s decisions to dismiss five former board members and appoint their replacements.

He is also seeking to have the board’s subsequent decisions, including its 21 October resolution to take action based on the investigation findings, reviewed and set aside.

The application further seeks to prevent the minister and the new board from interfering with the day-to-day management of the NAC and the statutory functions of the CEO.

The matter is scheduled to be heard in the High Court on 20 November 2026.
