Letshego Holdings Namibia Limited has announced a change to its board leadership following the resignation of Maria Mansueta Nakale as an independent non-executive director and chairperson of the Board.
In a notice issued in accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the Namibia Securities Exchange (NSX) Listing Requirements, the company said Nakale’s resignation will take effect from 30 September 2026.
The board expressed its appreciation to Nakale for her leadership and stewardship during her tenure, wishing her success in her future endeavours.
“The Board would like to express its sincere gratitude to MsNakale for her valuable leadership and stewardship over the years,” Letshego Holdings Namibia said.
The company confirmed that the process to appoint a suitable replacement has commenced, with the aim of ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of leadership.
Shareholders will be updated on further developments regarding the appointment of a new chairperson.
Nakale was appointed as chairperson in February 2024. Letshego said at that time Nakale holds a Masters in Corporate Financial Management (University of Cape Town), Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting and Economics (UNISA), Masters in Business Administration (Stellenbosch) and a Certificate in Project Management (University of Sellenbosch).
Nakale has over 20 years of experience in the financial sector with a specialisation in investment management and financial sector supervision.
She held senior executive positions in both the private and public sectors. She possesses extensive knowledge of corporate governance, strategy formulation and implementation, investment management and a strong ability to interpret legislation instruments.
She has held several directorships in both the private and public sectors over the past 17 years, these being the former chairperson of the NamPower Board, Guinas Investments (Pty) Ltd, Fides Bank and Namport and as board member of the Central Procurement Board of Namibia.
