This week saw the second leg matches of the semi finals play out and we now know which two teams will be playing in the final of the Uefa Champions League. The first of the two remaining matches were played on Tuesday evening when Paris Saint Germain travelled to England to play Manchester City on their home turf.
Manchester City won the match 2-0 after the final whistle bringing the aggregate to 4-1 and placing them in the final match of the Championship. Wednesday evening saw Real Madrid taking on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Their first encounter the previous week came to a draw which meant that Chelsea had to work hard to not concede a goal to progress to the final. Chelsea held on and won the game 2-0 with the second goal of the match being scored in the 85th minute by Mason Mount, putting Chelsea in the final against Manchester City. The final will be played in at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on the 29th of May.
The group stage of CAF, Africa’s biggest football tournament has now been completed. A total of eight teams have progressed to the quarter finals. The draw for the quarter finals were done on the 30th of April and the teams now know which team they will face in their quarter finals clash. The first match of the quarter finals will be MC Alger against Waydad AC. The match kicks off at 21:00 CAT on Friday the 14th of May. Saturday the 15th will see three matches taking place.
The first two matches will be played at 18:00, as Kaizer Chiefs takes on Simba SC and CR Belouizdad takes on Espérance Sportive de Tunis. The fourth match of these first leg matches will be played at 21:00 later on Saturday evening as Mamelodi Sundowns takes on Al Ahly. Teams will then get a week break before facing each other again the following Saturday the 22nd of May in the second leg of the quarter finals. The venue for the final match of the CAF Championship still needs to be announced but the date for the final will be on the 17th of July later this year.
