Unknown suspects assualted and gang raped a 23-year-old woman in an open space between Matutura Airport Side and Wag Daar location in Mondesa, Swakopmund.
The victim was dragged about 400m away from the robbery scene after she refused to hand over the password to her phone.
According to the Namibian Police Weekend crime report, this took place as she was walking home with her 30-year-old female friend from a Tuckshop in DRC suburb on Thursday night or early Friday morning near the soccer field in DRC on the side of Matutura Airport.
They too were approached by two unknown suspects wearing masks who threatened themwith knives before robbing her, cellphone, valued at N$800.
The suspects then instructed the victims to enter their passwords, the 30-year-old friend complied and she was threatened with a knife to run away while the ‘’rape victim’’ refused to enter her password, whereby one of the suspects kicked her to the ground and dragged her 400m away from the robbery scene to an open space between Matutura Airport Side and Wag Daar location and gang raped her.
After the suspects left, only then did the victim walk to the nearby ghetto where she was assisted and taken to Swakopmund State hospital for medical treatment. No arrest or recovery of the items have been made yet. Police investigation continues.
The friend has also opened a separate case for theft of her Nokia mobile phone.
