The Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group celebrated its exceptional employees during the annual Value Star Awards held on Friday.
This prestigious event, a highlight of the O&L corporate calendar, recognises individuals across the Group’s various companies who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to O&L’s core values of authenticity, care, and passion.
O&L Executive Chairman, Sven Thieme, pointed out that the awards play a very important role in recognising the employees’ vital contributions to the company’s success.
While addressing employees gathered for the award ceremony, Thieme, reflected on the importance of the event and how it served as a moment to acknowledge excellence within the company.
“Each year, this event leaves me inspired and amazed by the exceptional contributions of our Value Stars. This year feels particularly special. The past year has been defined by significant change—purposeful shifts in our leadership, business structures, and brands,” he said
Thieme stressed that true excellence is not always about groundbreaking innovation but about consistently striving to improve and make meaningful contributions.
O&L’s Human Capital Officer, Terence Makari, praised the Value Stars for their commitment and authentic leadership within the Group.
“We are here to recognise you for living and leading the O&L Persona. Your authentic, caring, and passionate contributions to our success are nothing short of inspiring,” he said while also acknowledging their critical role in the company’s continued success.
A significant announcement of the night came from Chief Experience Officer, Franziska Rueeck, who introduced the ‘O&L Persona Champion of 2029’ awards programme.
This new initiative aims to recognise employees who consistently align with O&L’s vision for 2029. Rueeck noted, “The revitalised recognition programme will enhance how we celebrate our employees who truly embody the essence of our O&L Persona”.
The event honoured top performers from various O&L operating companies, with the 2024 Value Stars including Benny Shilongo from Broll Namibia, Jean-Mari Kruger from Dimension Data, and Theobald Muyenga from Pick n Pay Namibia, among others. These winners were celebrated for their exceptional dedication and commitment to O&L’s values and vision for the future.
