United Africa Group is in the process of selling its multi- million Namibia dollars property portfolio. The group has a vast property profile which includes hotels, commercial office blocks, retail space, industrial, residential, student accommodation and parking.
Information gathered by Observer Money shows that the property portfolio currently consists of over 32 000 square meters of property in Windhoek and surrounds and includes hotels in Walvis Bay, Lüderitz, the Caprivi Strip, Ondangwa and Oshakati.
WH Auctioneers Properties, in association with Solution Strategists, have been instructed, on a sole and exclusive basis, to dispose of a property portfolio, owned by United African Group and its subsidiaries.
Observer Money gathered that the portfolio is being sold on a bulk and individual basis, meaning purchasers will be able to submit offers on individual properties or on the entire portfolio.
The properties that United Africa has put on the market include the Pelican Bay Hotel at Walvis Bay, which is a 50 room beach front hotel, the Burning Shore Hotel at Walvis Bay, a 12 Room beach front hotel, the Zambezi River Lodge at Katima Mulilo, a 38 Room river front hotel and adjacent land.
The other properties being sold are the, Thüringerhof Hotel in Windhoek, which is a 43 room hotel, the Zum Sperrgebiet Hotel in Lüderitz, which is a 22 room hotel, the Oshakati Country Lodge in Oshakati, which is a 48 room hotel and the Pandu Ondangwa a 90 room hotel and adjacent land.
United Africa Group has also put its commercial and retail properties on the market. These include the Gutenberg Platz in Windhoek, the Tallas Building in Windhoek and the City Centre in Windhoek, a multi-storey office and retail building and basement parking.
United Africa is also existing the student accommodation business and plans to sell the Capital Centre in Windhoek, which has a capacity of 377 beds and basement parking. Also put on the market is the Winco Windhoek property which can accommodate 72 student rooms.
In terms of industrial property, the group is selling Kallie Roodt Windhoek workshop, offices and yard in Windhoek.
Although United Africa has not listed the Hilton Hotel in Windhoek, the adjacent, UPP 1990 made up of 10 residential apartments and five retail shops has been put on the market. The tender closure date is Friday 29 September 2023, by which all offers must be submitted, WH Auctioneers Properties and Solution Strategists said.
