The Tsumeb Municipality has warned residents against fencing, occupying or conducting business activities on municipal land without prior written approval from the council.
In a public notice, the municipality said no fence, structure or business activity may be established on municipal land without the necessary authorisation.
The municipality said it continues to monitor cases of illegal land occupation and will take enforcement action where necessary.
Such action may include the removal of unauthorised structures and confiscation of materials, once due process has been followed.
Residents have been urged to obtain the required municipal approvals before fencing or developing any land to avoid unnecessary costs and inconvenience.
The municipality said residents seeking clarification or information should contact its town planning department during office hours.
