The 22-year-old Peter ‘Bockky’ Amwaalwa was found dead in Swakopmund in the early hours of Saturday, according to the weekend crime report provided by Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi.
Amwaalwa’s body was found lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds by members of the Namibian Police during a routine patrol, Shikwambi said.
“It’s alleged that the deceased was stabbed with a sharp object once on the left thigh and twice on the back and that he died instantly. The body was ferried to the police mortuary for further investigations. No suspect has been identified,” she said.
She further appealed to the public to come forward with information that may lead to the identification of any would-be suspect in the matter.
On Friday, at about 04h24, a man was stabbed to death at the corner of Eveline Street and Justine Street in the Greenwell Matongo location of Windhoek.
Shikwambi said the deceased was stabbed with a knife while in the company of friends who were having drinks at the Masipiri Bar.
“The incident happened after an argument erupted between the two groups over a 2-litre bottle of Castelo which went missing in the suspect’s taxi. The suspect was found with an Okapi knife and a screwdriver, while the deceased was in the suspect’s vehicle. A Red VW Polo taxi which was driven by a friend of the deceased in an attempt to take him to the hospital was also found” she said.
It is further alleged that the deceased body was seen laying in the backseat of the vehicle.
His next of kin have not yet been informed and the police investigation continues.
Moreover, on the same day in Lüderitz, Kaen Amutenya (28) was found dead in his home with gunshot wounds.
Amutenya was found in a locked toilet with a gunshot wound on the forehead, laying in a pool of blood.
“The 7mm pistol allegedly belonged to the deceased’s father. One cartridge was found at the scene. The motive behind is not known yet. His next of kin are informed,” Shikwambi said.
