The organisers of the 2nd Namibia Oil and Gas Technical Conference have unveiled the technical programme and speaker line-up for the event, which will take place in Windhoek on 19–20 August 2026 as part of the 4th Namibia Oil and Gas Conference.
The conference will bring together engineers, geoscientists, project developers, regulators, technology providers and other energy professionals to discuss technical developments across Namibia’s oil and gas value chain as the country moves towards first oil production.
The first day will focus on upstream exploration and basin geoscience, appraisal and reservoir engineering, as well as infrastructure, midstream development and regional integration.
Among the presentations scheduled are research by NAMCOR’s Secilie Hainana, Martin Negonga and Alina Narubes on Cretaceous reservoir systems along the Namibian margin, while Capitalfield Energy and Allied Services’ John Okereafor will examine commercial, regulatory and infrastructure risks in Africa’s upstream sector.
Other speakers include representatives from the Petroleum Agency South Africa, WKH Law, Teyshas Energy, Lynx Analytics, Subsea7 and Copia Group of Companies, covering topics ranging from field development to governance in frontier hydrocarbon projects.
The infrastructure and regional integration session will feature presentations on local fabrication capacity, youth skills development, regional gas integration, gas monetisation and Southern African energy corridors.
Speakers include representatives from Tenor Investments CC, IGUA-SA, EnergyStrat Consulting, Shepherds Tree Investments, Gas Strategies Group and Standard Bank.
The second day will focus on drilling, completions, subsea engineering, digitalisation, health, safety and environmental management, and sustainability.
Technical papers will be presented by representatives from OneSubsea, Vink Chemicals, Strohm B.V. and TotalEnergies EP Angola on offshore engineering, subsea systems and production technologies.
Sessions on digitalisation and emerging technologies will include presentations from SLB, Honeywell, MTC, Galp and independent cybersecurity consultant Temilola Eniolorunda.
Health, safety and environmental topics will be covered by speakers from SLR Consulting, Dr. Weder, Kruger & HaikaliInc. and Ubuntu Bethu Compassion Capital Inc.
The conference will conclude with discussions on sustainability, environmental protection and energy transition.
Presentations will include carbon markets, geospatial planning for oil spill response, environmental, social and governance (ESG) capacity building, and strategies for integrating oil, gas and renewable energy into Namibia’s future energy mix.
According to the organisers, more than 35 technical papers will be presented by experts from oil and gas operators, service companies, technology providers, financial institutions, consultancies, academic institutions and government, providing a platform to discuss engineering solutions, innovation and best practices for Namibia’s developing petroleum sector.
