With a mix of holiday spirit, exciting activities, and enhanced security measures, Swakopmund is ready to welcome visitors and residents to a memorable and safe holiday season at the coast.
The festive season has officially descended upon Namibia, and the signs are unmistakable.
Businesses are winding down for the year, schools are emptying out, and the atmosphere is charged with excitement.
For many, it’s the perfect time to relax by the beach in Swakopmund or embark on a journey to visit family in the northern or southern regions of Namibia.
Coastal towns such as Swakopmund, Henties Bay, and Walvis Bay are preparing for a surge in visitors, who will all be in search of that much-desired ocean breeze and a memorable holiday experience.
With Christmas just around the corner, the message is clear: it’s time to spread love, prepare presents, spend quality time with family, and make them feel special.
However, safety and security have emerged as significant concerns in Swakopmund during this period amidst the festive cheer. To address these concerns, the Swakopmund Municipality and the Namibian Police will again be collaborating to strengthen security measures, ensuring the safety of holidaymakers and tourists alike.
The municipality is committed to meeting the safety and security needs of residents and visitors, encouraging a harmonious working relationship between the police force and the municipality.
The municipality’s works department is dedicated to preparing the town for December by trimming palm trees and beautifying public parks and gardens along Swakopmund’s pedestrian pathways.
Each palm tree is a testament to meticulous care, with their emerald crowns elegantly pruned and casting dappled shadows on the sun-kissed ground.
Swakopmund, the “Centre of Adventure”, is already buzzing with activities, complemented by the wonderful weather.
As the festive season approaches, many entrepreneurs along the coast are seizing the opportunity to boost their proceeds amid spiralling inflation and the rising cost of living. This holiday season promises to be one filled with both celebration and entrepreneurial spirit.
