The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration Safety and Security, has announced the extension of the study permit application period for foreign students.
Executive Director at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, Etienne Maritz, announced the extension in a statement, last week in which he stated that the deadline for submitting study permit applications for foreign students has been extended to Friday, 8 March 2024.
The extension has been granted to provide students with another opportunity to submit their applications and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed on time, he stated.
At the same time, Maritz informed the media that the Ministry understands the circumstances may vary for each student.
He added the Ministry wants to ensure all foreign students have reasonable time to prepare and submit their study permit applications.
“We encourage all foreign students who have not yet submitted their applications to take advantage of this extended deadline,” he emphasised.
Maritz further advised foreign student clients that this extension applies to all study permit applications for the current academic term.
The Ministry, according to Maritz, extended these study permit applications as additional time.
“The Ministry strongly urges students to make use of this additional time and ensure that their applications are submitted by the new deadline”
This, he said, will avoid any potential complications or delays.
