Parts of a human skeleton along with some clothing items were found at Oukuvas Village in Okakarara constituency on Friday morning.
According to the Namibian Police Spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, the unidentified human remains consist of a skull with teeth, a jaw bone, ribs, a spine, arm and finger bones. She said people also found a brown jersey and a grey balaclava at the scene.
On the same day at Ohadiwa Village, Endola the lifeless body of a female Angolan national, Judith Paula Ngongololo, was discovered in her bedroom.
She was allegedly employed as a domestic worker in the house where her remains were found.
In a separate incident, also on Friday, an 18-year-old Namibian girl was arrested after she allegedly dumped the body of her newborn baby.
Shikwambi said the body was eaten by dogs and was discovered by a small child.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Ondangwa Magistrate today.
Also on Friday in Otjiwarongo, a 16-year-old teenager was arrested after he allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl.
“It is alleged that both children reside at the same house and that the incident has happened before but the suspect was warned by the guardian. The suspect did not heed the warning and continued with his misdeeds,” she said.
The suspect is set to appear in court today and the police investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
In another incident, the 28-year-old Uahepaike Tjindunda committed suicide at the Otjikojo Village in the Omaanda area, on Saturday 17 June 2023.
“It is alleged that the deceased, hung himself with a rope from a tree,” Shikwambi said.
The body was discovered by a cattle herder.
