“The Namibian people have spoken. Namibians in their majority wrote a new chapter in the history of their constitutional democracy by electing the first female President of the Republic of Namibia. I do not doubt that under her capable and compassionate leadership, the future of the Namibian people can only be brighter,” he declared.

He also lauded the incoming members of the National Assembly, encouraging them to approach their legislative duties with diligence and integrity.
“As incoming members of the National Assembly, I encourage you to be exemplary and to prepare thoroughly for the legislative tasks that lie ahead of you,” he said.
Reflecting on the peaceful execution of the elections, the president commended the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) for its diligence in overseeing a fair and transparent process.
He also praised the Namibian people for their patience and commitment to democracy, noting their determination to cast their votes despite challenges.
“You did so fully aware that democracy is not an end in itself and requires constant vigilance and nurturing,” he said.
Acknowledging the contributions of political parties, election observers, and security forces, President Mbumba stressed the importance of unity and stability as pillars of national progress.
He appealed to all Namibians, including political leaders, to uphold these values in the post-election period.
“We should continue with our cherished culture of peace as a precondition for development,” he urged.
Mbumba reiterated the government’s dedication to upholding democratic principles, ensuring that institutions remain the ultimate arbiters of differences, especially during and after elections.
“As Head of State, I assure each and every Namibian of the commitment of the Government in upholding the rule of law,” he stated.
Mbumba described the elections as a reflection of the will of the Namibian people and a starting point for a new chapter in the country’s journey.
“The chapter on democratic elections we have just concluded reflects the will of Namibian citizens and the start of a new journey for the nation. We should all stand together in the journey to move Namibia forward,” he urged.
