Police in Mondesa are appealing to members of the public for information that could assist in tracing 15-year-old Runea Uises, a Grade 8 learner at Westside High School, who has been reported missing.

According to the police, Uises allegedly left her home in Mandume Ndemufayo Street, Mondesa, unnoticed at approximately 21h00 on 25 August 2026.

Her grandmother later discovered a note on the bed indicating that the teenager was suicidal, raising concerns for her safety and prompting the police to appeal for public assistance.

At the time she was last seen, Uises was reportedly wearing a red hoodie, light-blue jean trousers and white takkies. She is described as light in complexion and slender, with black braided hair. Police said she speaks English and Afrikaans fluently, as well as a bit of Khoekhoegowab and Oshiwambo.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen Uises or have information regarding her whereabouts to come forward. Information can be reported to Detective Inspector Cletius Kabuku on 081 391 0671 or to the nearest police station.

The police have appealed to the public to treat any information seriously and report it as soon as possible to help ensure the safe return of the missing teenager.
