More than 400 pairs of shoes have been handed to barefoot children, elderly residents, and adults across three communities, as Project Never Walk Alone (PNWA) and the Road Fund Administration (RFA) concluded their 2026 Winter Drive on Saturday.
The initiative kicked off at Bloukrans Primary School near Dordabis, reaching over 100 learners, before moving to Groot Aub to serve more than 200 senior citizens.
The final stop at Okahandja Park in Windhoek saw another 200 children and adults receive new footwear.
“A pair of shoes means much more to a barefooted child,” said RFA’s Beaulah Garises, adding that the partnership was a proud moment for the organisation.
In addition to shoes, Kasi Socks donated over 400 pairs of socks, while more than 1 500 people received meals and drinks during the 10-hour drive, which ran from 08h00 to 18h00.
PNWA spokesperson Nangula Mbako stressed that the project is “not a school shoe project” but one aimed at restoring dignity and offering hope to Namibians of all ages.
“We are so grateful that we could find them, provide them with shoes and give them a sense of peace and renewed hope,” Mbako said.
