This was announced today by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology in a media release.
President Hage Geingob will be the keynote speaker at the event, according to Audrin Mathe, Executive Director in the MICT.
The ministry indicated that preparations are well underway for this year’s celebration and the Government wishes to invite Namibians from all parts of the country to come together and celebrate the selfless acts of sacrifice whilst reaffirming unity and patriotism that fosters pride and duty towards the prosperity of the nation.
“Like other national events, Independence Day Celebrations are held in the regions on a rotational basis,” says Mathe. The last Celebration was held in Swakopmund, Erongo Region.
Various cultural and musical performances and other entertainment activities will be available at the event.
