Oshigambo school to remain closed

The Oshigambo High School in the Oshikoto region will not resume its second semester due to a lack of funds. In a notice issued by the school board chairperson, Simon Iitula, it is stated that the regional education director, Aletta Eises failed to release the necessary funds

“Unfortunately, we regret to inform you that due to the Oshikoto regional education director’s refusal to release the subsidy funds, we are unable to commence the second semester as planned,” said Iitula.

As a result, he requested parents not to send the learners to school on Sunday until the necessary funds are made available.

The funds are intended to feed learners and to purchase other essential items.

Parents are advised to raise their concerns with the office of the education director regarding the commencement date.

Iitula, however, threatened Eises that should she fail to heed their call, the board will initiate legal action.
