Onesi SSS to Host “Go Hard or Go Home” annual sports tournament

Onesi Senior Secondary School will host its annual tournament in February 2025.

Rauna Haulu, the school’s sports director, announced this on Thursday.

Haulu said the tournament is not just an event but a celebration of the school’s spirit.

“Next year’s tournament will feature a variety of sports, including soccer (male and female), volleyball, and netball, ensuring there’s something for everyone,” she said.

Haulu further added that the tournament is open to nearby schools and regions, and they are urged to register for participation.

“‘Registration is open up until 7 February 2025 and the draw will be done on the same day in the evening at school,” she added.

Haulu also added that the tournament has taken place this year, and about 22 schools participated.

Teams must register, with the women’s soccer team paying N$650, the netball team N$700, and the volleyball team N$650.

Men’s soccer teams are required to pay N$900 for registration.

“Soccer prizes are the first team to win a trophy and a token of N$4 500, with 16 gold medals. The second team will be awarded N$2 200 with 16 silver medals, and the last team will be given the amount of N$1 300 with bronze medals,” Haulu said.

The first team in women’s soccer will receive N$1 400 and a trophy with 16 gold medals, the second team will receive N$1 000 and 16 silver medals, and the final team will receive N$800 and 16 bronze medals.

“For Netball, the first team will win a trophy, an amount of N$2 000, and 10 gold medals, and the second one will walk away with N$1 300 and 10 silver medals, while the last one will be awarded N$800 with 1o bronze medals,” she added.

The volleyball teams will also receive awards; the first team will receive N$1 400, a trophy, and 10 gold medals, the second team will receive N$1 000, 10 silver medals, and the third team will receive N$800 and 10 bronze medals.
