Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR), has taken steps to support the Khorixas Town Council with cleaning materials worth N$10 000 to enhance a hygienic environment for tourism.
Nelson Ashipala, the Spokesperson of the NWR, confirmed the support yesterday.
Providing details about the nature of the donation, Ashipala said, it includes gloves, refuse bags, and masks to support the town in maintaining a pristine environment.
He said that the donation aims to empower Khorixas in its mission to keep the town and its surroundings clean and welcoming.
Ashipala said Khorixas is stationed along one of the most scenic routes in Namibia and serves as the gateway to the tourism triangle as well as the Kunene Region where most visitors are likely to go.
“It was for this reason that the NWR decided to help Khorixas town uphold cleanliness standards to enhance the overall visitor experience. We see lots of traffic passing through Khorixas. We know this because we operate here. The least we could do is to ensure that we keep this town of ours clean,” he said. At the same time, Ashipala mentioned that this initiative not only creates an opportunity to establish a clean environment for visitors but also reflects NWR’s efforts toward contributing to local communities.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Khorixas Town Council, Andreas Howoseb, expressed delight and gratitude upon receiving the generous donation from the NWR.
Howoseb stressed the importance of collaboration between public and private entities, saying it is a significant way for entities’ development.
“Partnerships have a positive impact on the community and the broader region. The donation totalled N$ 10 000.00 and will see NWR staff commit to assisting the town’s cleaning campaigns with logistics and manpower,” he concluded.
