Namibia Health Plan (NHP) has strengthened its engagement with Namibia’s emerging oil and gas sector, using the 4th Namibia Oil and Gas Conference 2026 to connect with industry leaders and prospective employer groups on the healthcare needs of a growing and evolving workforce.
As Namibia’s oil and gas industry continues to develop and attract new investment, the expansion of the sector is expected to bring with it new employers, specialised skills and a growing workforce requiring access to reliable healthcare cover.
NHP’s participation provided an opportunity to engage directly with organisations operating within and entering the sector, while gaining greater insight into their evolving employee healthcare needs.
Tunohole Mungoba, corporate communications manager at Namibia Health Plan, said NHP’s engagement with emerging sectors forms part of the Fund’s commitment to remaining responsive to changes in Namibia’s economy and workforce.
“As new industries take shape, we also need to understand the people who will power them. For NHP, this means engaging employers early, listening to their healthcare needs and ensuring that we are positioned to support a growing and increasingly diverse workforce. Our participation is therefore not simply about showcasing NHP, but about building relationships and understanding how healthcare coverage can evolve alongside the industries shaping Namibia’s future,” Mungoba said.
Principal Officer of NHP, Dantago Garosas said NHP’s approach is centered on ensuring that members and stakeholders are not only informed when regulatory changes take effect, but are carried along throughout the process.
“Regulatory change can easily feel technical and removed from the everyday member experience. Our responsibility is to make it understandable. We want our members, employer groups and other stakeholders to know what is changing, why it is changing and, importantly, what it means for them. Creating that understanding and confidence is an important part of our readiness for FIMA,” Garosas said.
