The fourth annual Nedbank Women in Media Conference is set to take place this Saturday at the Nedbank Campus in Windhoek.
Organised by Women in Media Co-Founder, Limba Mupetami, the event aims to provide a platform for women in the Namibian media industry to engage in dialogue, networking and collaboration.
With a focus on advancing gender diversity and empowerment within the media sector, the conference will feature panel discussions and interactive conversations led by esteemed speakers from media organisations, scholars and corporate entities.
Topics will range from the portrayal of women in media to strategies for career advancement and leadership development.
Communications and Public Relations Manager at Nedbank, Selma Kaulinnge, emphasised the importance of collaboration between media houses and corporates in driving innovation and amplifying women’s voices in the media landscape.
“At Nedbank Namibia, we recognise the pivotal role of women in shaping the media landscape and driving societal change. Through this conference, we aimed to foster a supportive environment for women in media to exchange ideas, share experiences, and forge partnerships that drive positive impact. As money experts who do good, we believe that collaboration between media houses and corporates is essential for driving innovation, promoting diversity, and amplifying women’s voices in the media,” Kaulinge said.
The event, open to media professionals and students studying media-related qualifications, will offer an opportunity for attendees to exchange ideas, share experiences and forge partnerships.
The conference is sponsored by Nedbank Namibia, Multichoice Namibia, the European Union, Pupkewitz Motors, Gondwana Collection and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Media.
