Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) has announced the launch of Windhoek Beer in the Kenyan market. The company said the strategic move marks a significant milestone in NBL’s ongoing efforts to expand its footprint, export its premium products, and develop its business across new markets.
Windhoek Beer, the iconic brand of NBL portfolio, renowned for its exceptional quality and rich heritage, is now available to Kenyan consumers who appreciate a finely crafted beer. Brewed in accordance with the Reinheitsgebot, the German Beer Purity Law of 1516, Windhoek Beer is made from only the finest ingredients: malted barley, hops, and water, ensuring a pure and refreshing taste, the company said.
The introduction of Windhoek Beer in Kenya is part of NBL’s broader strategy to enhance its international presence and drive growth through exports. By entering the Kenyan market, NBL aims to tap into the dynamic and diverse consumer base, offering them a unique beer experience that stands out for its authenticity and superior taste, the announcement added.
NBL said it would sell Namibia through its flagship beer, Windhoek, showcasing the rich culture and heritage of Namibia.
This launch was also made possible thanks to the synergies and extensive network of Heineken Beverages, which supports NBL mission to bring quality beer to new markets. KWAL (a subsidiary of Heineken Beverages) will be NBL’s distribution partner, ensuring a quality route-to-consumer (RTC) experience.
“We are thrilled to introduce Windhoek Beer to the Kenyan market. This launch is a significant step in our journey to expand our reach and share the essence of Namibia with the world. The support and synergies from the Heineken Beverages have been instrumental in making this possible. Our passion for consumers and customers, along with our courage to dream and pioneer, drives us to bring the best of Namibia to new markets,” said Waldemar von Lieres, Managing Director of NBL.
The company said the NBL’s expansion into Kenya is not just about business growth; it is also about building lasting relationships with local partners and contributing to the cultural vibrancy of Namibian beer culture.
“The company is committed to supporting local communities and fostering a culture of responsible drinking and moderation,” the company said. -NBL
