The Namcol Board of Governors formally announced his retirement yesterday and added that today was his last day in office.
According to Rholene Bok, Namcol’s Manager for Marketing, Murangi has been a key member of the college since its establishment in 1998.
He held various positions within the organization before assuming the role of CEO in 2007.

Bok commended Murangi for his wealth of knowledge and noted his involvement as a resource person in various education bodies within the Namibian education sector.
To facilitate the transition in Namcol’s leadership, Jan Nitschke has been appointed as the interim CEO until the process of selecting a new CEO is completed. Nitschke, the Director of Curriculum and Material Development, has been with the college since 2004, starting as a Research Manager and later being promoted to Deputy Director of Programme Development in 2010.
Bok assured stakeholders that the Board of Governors is fully aware of the importance of stable and competent leadership to ensure the strategic and operational continuity of the college.
