Letshego Holdings Namibia has appointed Mansueta-Maria Nakale as chairperson of the board of Letshego and its subsidiaries.
Letshego shareholders were advised that Maryvonne Palanduz’s tenure agreement with Letshego has come to an end and accordingly retired from the board, effective 31 January 2024.
Letshego said Nakale holds a Masters in Corporate Financial Management (University of Cape Town), Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting and Economics(UNISA), Masters in Business Administration (Stellenbosch) and a Certificate in Project Management (University of Sellenbosch).
Nakale has over 20 years of experience in the financial sector with a specialisation in investment management and financial sector supervision.
She held senior executive positions in both the private and public sectors. She possesses extensive knowledge of corporate governance, strategy formulation and implementation, investment management and a strong ability to interpret legislation instruments.
The Letshego Holdings Namibia, CEO, Ester Kali said: “Although it is unfortunate to say farewell to Ms. Palanduz after her tenure, we are grateful for the significant strides and improvements that Letshego made under her guidance. We are excited about the change and look forward to working with Nakale. We believe that her expertise will bring a new perspective to the boardroom. Letshego is fortunate to have board members of such a high caliber.”
Palanduz had been a director of Letshego and certain strategic subsidiaries from May 2017 and acted as chairperson of Letshego Holdings and Letshego Bank Namibia since then.
“Her contributions made a significant impact both in and out of the boardroom, and the board and management expressed their gratitude for her expertise. The board thanks Palanduz for her valuable contribution during her tenure as an independent non-executive director and wishes her all the best for her future endeavours. She will be greatly missed by her fellow board members and management,” the company said.
