Police in Tsumeb are investigating a suspected case of fraud after N$60 900 was allegedly transferred from a complainant’s FNB account without his permission while he was asleep.

According to the weekend crime report, the complainant received the loan from FNB on Thursday, 6 August 2026, which was deposited into his FNB account.

At around 03:40 on Friday morning, 7 August, he received a notification from his banking app indicating that the money had been transferred to another FNB account.

It is alleged that the complainant told police that he had not received any phone calls, SMSes or messages requesting his banking details, card numbers or one-time passwords (OTPs).

No arrests have been made and the money has not been recovered.

Police investigations are continuing.
