Local companies listed on the Namibian Stock Exchange and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange have announced a number of changes to their boards of directors.
Letshego Holdings Namibia Limited has appointed Jerome Mutumba as independent non-executive director effective 15 July 2024. Mutumba is a seasoned business executive and strategist with nearly 21 years of senior management experience across the financial and commercial sectors, including central banking, mining, and development finance.
As a well-rounded corporate executive and business management strategist by training, Mutumba possesses authoritative expertise in all relevant areas of business management and has held high-level strategic responsibilities at both national and corporate levels, demonstrating a proven track record of leadership and strategic vision, Letshego said in a stock exchange notice.
“The board would like to welcome Mr. Mutumba to the LHN board. His appointment to the board will also coincide with the appointment as director to the subsidiary boards of the company,” the notice said.
Nictus Holdings Limited also announced the appointment of Johannes Jacobus Esterhuyse as independent non-executive director effective 17 July 2024.
Nictus said Esterhuyse is a seasoned financial service executive and has over a decade of executive level experience, specialising in the formulation and implementation of group strategies with a proven track record in driving and delivering growth and expansion strategies across diverse sectors and has proven himself adept at serving on various executive committees and boards, with a strong background in both the banking and private equity sectors.
“The board would like to welcome Mr Esterhuyse to the LHN Board. His appointment to the board will also coincide with the appointment as director to the subsidiary boards of the company.”
Nictus also announced the appointment of Corlia A. Snyman as an executive director of the company, in line with the succession strategy of the group, with effect from 16 July 2024.
Nictus said Snyman is a qualified chartered accountant (South Africa and Namibia) and holds an honours B. Com degree from North-West University. Her professional experience includes roles at PwC as senior manager in the auditing department and various senior roles in the Nictus Group, including internal auditor, financial manager, and chief financial officer.
“With more than thirteen years in finance, seven of which at the Nictus Group, she brings extensive expertise in financial services. The board would like to congratulate Ms. Snyman and wish her well in this endeavor,” the company said.
