A 12-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped by her brother in Gobabis at Buffalo Flats, on Friday evening, 22 October around 23h00.
According to NamPol Spokesperson, Chief Inspector Elifas Kuwinga, the family has not disclosed as yet the brother’s age and he has not yet been arrested and police investigations are ongoing. It is alleged that the victim and suspect were watching TV in the sitting room, whereby the victim fell asleep on the coach and upon waking up she noticed that she was being raped by her brother.
Meanwhile,in the Ohangwena region, a 10-year-old minor girl was raped by an unknown male suspect at Omahenge Village. This also transpired on Friday around 14H00. It is alleged that the victim was on her way from school when she was approached by the suspect to follow him in the mahangu field were the incident occurred. Police investigations are ongoing in the matter.
In the Hardap region the Police are on the lookout for two male suspects who allegedly raped and threatened two girls aged 16 and 17 years respectively with Okapi knives. The incident happened in Rehoboth Block E near the Vooruitsig Primary School on Saturday between midnight and 5AM.
According to the police it is alleged that the incident occurred when suspects initially demanded money from them and since the victims did not have any money the suspects than threatened them to walk from Block B to Block E where the victims were allegedly raped. Police investigations in the matter are also ongoing.
In Usakos on Sunday, 24 October, between 02H00 and 03H00 midnight at the Hakhaseb location, a 25-year- old male sustained serious injuries on his head after he was allegedly hacked with an axe by an unknown person. The victim is said to be in a critical condition and has been transferred to a hospital in Windhoek.
At Kappsfarm an inquest was registered on Saturday, 23 October, at about 23H25 on the B6 Road between Kappsfarm and Klein Windhoek, when a male identified as Penda Uahengo, 22-year-old died on the scene, after he allegedly lost control over the vehicle causing it to overturn several time. His next of kin has been informed and police investigations continue.
In Kamanjab on Friday, 22 October, at about 15H00 at the Kamanjab Sewage Pan, a lifeless body of a minor boy identified as Royal Dino /Naub, elven-year-old was retrieved from the sewage. It is alleged that the deceased went swimming with other children at the time of the incident.
Meanwhile in Nkurenkuru, on Saturday, 23 October, at about 01H00 in Ous Village on the B10 road, a passenger identified as Hailwa Thomas (47), died on the scene, while the driver and another passenger sustained serious injuries and were transferred to Nkurenkuru Health Centre.
It is alleged that the driver lost control of the vehicle they were travelling in causing the vehicle to overturn. The deceased’s next of kin is informed and police investigations continue.
