The Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Namibia Tourism Board, Bornventure Mbidzo, shared Namibia’s success stories at the 67th CAF UN Tourism Regional Commission for Africa this week.
The conference, themed “Promoting Africa to Unlock Tourism Investments and the Sector’s Growth Potential,” was held from 22-24 July, in Livingstone, Zambia.
Mbidzo participated in a panel discussion, sharing Namibia’s tourism success stories.
He said the platform was also an opportunity to learn from other experts and identify new strategies for growth and development.
“The conference presented an excellent opportunity for us to engage with other stakeholders and experts in the industry to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing African tourism,” said Mbidzo.
Mbidzo contributes his insights and experiences to the discussions, sharing Namibia’s perspective on the importance of branding Africa as a tourist destination and exploring ways to increase investment in the tourism sector.
This event gathered stakeholders from across Africa and beyond, providing a platform for countries to showcase their unique tourism products and experiences.
The discussion centred on promoting African tourism, increasing investments, and addressing sectoral challenges such as infrastructure development, marketing and promotion, and sustainability.
