Magistrate Mutafela Likando denied bail to the suspect, who was only arrested this week, despite the incident reportedly happening nearly two weeks ago. It is alleged that Musambani resides on the premises of the day care centre. premises. The suspect allegedly lured the victim to his room while the teacher was busy preparing food.
Musambani reportedly threatened to hurt the victim if she reported the incident to her teachers or parents. Bail was denied due to the seriousness of the offense and the fact that investigations are still at an early stage. The victim’s parents also gave a statement objecting to bail.
It is reported that the child’s mother realised that something was amiss when a strange odor came from her child’s genitals when she peed on the day the incident occurred. Later that evening, the woman, whose name cannot be revealed to protect the victim, observed semen from her child’s genitals upon further inspection.
