LAID TO REST:


Former education minister Katrina Hanse-Himarwa was laid to rest in her home town of Mariental on Saturday.
In attendance was President Nangolo Mbumba, who described her as a woman of substance and conviction.
“She was a woman of substance. She was a woman of conviction. She was a woman of honour – a woman of faith. A woman of humour, warmth and compassion,” said the President.
Teachers, learners and community leaders also paid their last respects.
The late Hanse-Himarwa was born on 22 January 1967, she served as the Hardap regional governor from 2004-2015.
She also served as the education minister from 2015-2019.
She was a member of the Swapo Party, where she served as a politburo member.
She passed on 14 July 2024.
