Koryx Copper has received assay results from 15 drill holes covering 6 825 metres as part of its infill and expansion drilling programme at the Haib Copper Project in southern Namibia.
The company said the results form part of an infill drilling programme undertaken to support a pre-feasibility study (PFS) for the wholly owned project.
Koryx president and chief executive officer Heye Daun said most of the latest drill results showed wide mineralised intercepts, including some higher-grade mineralisation from surface.
Although drilling has been completed, the company said additional assay results are still being received and further results are expected in the coming weeks.
Koryx said geological modelling and mineral resource estimation for an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) and PFS have started. The company expects to publish the updated MRE and PFS results before the end of 2026.
Daun said the ongoing technical work was aimed at optimising the project scope and improving its technical and economic metrics.
Haib is a porphyry copper, molybdenum and gold deposit that Koryx plans to develop through large-scale open-pit mining and conventional sulphide milling and flotation to produce copper and molybdenum concentrates.
According to the company, more than 155 000 metres of drilling have been completed at Haib since the 1970s. Exploration programmes have involved companies including Falconbridge, Rio Tinto, Teck and Koryx Copper.
Koryx said additional drilling, metallurgical testing and technical studies have been completed or are underway to assess Haib as a potential long-life open-pit copper project, with additional heap-leach potential.
The mineralisation at Haib is predominantly chalcopyrite, with smaller amounts of bornite and chalcocite. The company said only minor secondary copper minerals occur at surface, which it attributes to the project’s arid environment.
Koryx Copper is a Luxembourg-domiciled copper development company focused on its 100%-owned Haib project in Namibia and a portfolio of copper exploration licences in Zambia.
