The Khomas Netball League wraps up another thrilling season.
Excitement is in the air as fans and players alike anticipate the grand finale with matches and an award ceremony set to take place on 5 October at the Patrick Iiyambo Police College in Windhoek.
The chairperson of the Khomas Netball Association, Dimitri Bittler, expressed pride in what the league has achieved this year.
“This year, Khomas successfully hosted its Super 10, 1st Division, and 2nd Division domestic leagues, each fiercely contested and showcasing the immense talent and passion within the region. Teams battled it out on the courts, demonstrating not just skill but also the spirit of sportsmanship that defines netball in Khomas,” he said.
He said the award ceremony will serve as a fitting tribute to the individuals and teams who have made significant contributions to the sport throughout the year.
“It will serve as an opportunity to honour outstanding players, coaches, and teams, celebrating their contributions to the sport. In this last dance of the season, the league will reflect on the unforgettable moments and the fierce rivalries that have marked this year’s competitions,” he said.
The event will also highlight the community’s support for netball, emphasising how integral the sport is to the social fabric of Khomas.
Bittler said the year was filled with challenges and triumphs.
He added that the 5 October event promises to be a memorable occasion, bringing the community together one last time before the curtain closes on a phenomenal year of netball.
“It will not only celebrate the achievements of the past year but also look forward to a bright future for netball in Khomas.
